Dog Bites- Often lead to infections, antiseptics, recommendations
Dogs bites will often become infected. This is particularly the case when the bite causes a puncture wound.
Unless the wounds are multiple, or large enough to obviously to require veterinary attention, there is no emergency, but the dog should be taken to the veterinary surgery within 24 hours to allow the vet to assess whether antibiotic injections are needed. Prior to that, the wound may be cleansed with antiseptic lotion.
Some recommended antiseptic products:
Paraderm Plus- particularly good for those cuts and abrasions that are sore and inflammed. This cream contains and antiseptic, anti-inflammatory and an anaesthetic. Great for the whole family!
Soov- great for bites the anaesthetic will numb the area and also contains an antiseptic. A great product also good for the mosquito bites.
